Additional Stop at Dunkirk added to our service connecting Ireland to the ContinentOctober 26, 2020
Containerships launches new stop at Dunkirk on the BENI service.
We are pleased to announce that Containerships will be adding a new stop at Dunkirk to the existing BENI service. The addition of Dunkirk makes Containerships the only service running between the Republic of Ireland and Dunkirk and offers a transit time of just four days. The updated service will start from 19th November 2020.
With this in-house operated service we are adding to our service bridge from Ireland to the continent and further enhancing our strong shortsea service portfolio. Our customers will gain the benefit of intermodal services in Dunkirk to Paris and Metz via rail, as well door-to-door delivery throughout France, in addition to the intermodal network connections offered on this route through Rotterdam to mainland Europe.
The ship serving the route, mv AILA, has a capacity of 900 TEUs and 204 fridge connections, allowing for temperature-controlled shipment of perishable produce.
